Shotaway

Shot2funk founder, Simon Ottway A.K.A Shotaway, was born in Bristol in1979. Surrounded by a family of music lovers, Simon was introduced to many musical genres. As a teenager dance music was sweeping the nation, and it was this that would fuel his passion for producing and engineering.

Simon started his journey into music production back in 1999 when he studied sound engineering at the City of Bristol College. Following this, he spent as much time as he could DJing and mastering the latest software to produce tracks.

In 2006 Simon decided to start his own record label. Shot2funk began complete with international distribution, and has had an impressive catalogue of tracks from new talent released online since 2007.

Despite the label taking increasing amounts of his time, workaholic Simon still finds ocassional time in the studio to produce some twisted, funky house tunes and dub-step grooves as Shotaway.
